May 2006 I got the call that I was finally going to get the life changing surgery I needed for my 5 month sickness I felt I was dying of....Same day someone quoted the bible verses to me on the phone "He or she who lives under the house of God shall no longer remain ill" and then my friend called at the end of the day to say "after 16 long years you got your wish.....Patch and Kayla are returning to Days."

Hey angels......

ahhhhhh......*deep sigh* soooo THIS pic? Yeah THIS is my PNK......You can fire them....recast them....rehire them but they can NEVER take moments like this pic and their friendship away.....The only thing they've done is stopped the ongoing story of PNK which is in itself sad and lame since it only just started again(and there's so much that wasnt told)....But what they could never do is take the ongoing ever awesome friendship of MB and Stephen away.....That is lifetime baby and I loooooove that......

One thing we didnt get to experience with Rali in real life was this deep friendship and connection where we KNEW they would at least go bowling together once a week LOL.....But what Ive always been fortunately to have with Mary Beth and Stephen is a window of who they are to each other outside of Patch and Kayla....While they are happily married souls who have both been married for over 23 years, they have also been married to each other for 23 years ....supporting each other and lucky enough to have played PNK twice and Stefan and Katherine...Plus they go to every awards together and still have events together and do plays together....

4 of my favorite "PNK" aka MB and Stephen moments are:

When MB was sick in the beginning of her 2nd pregnancy with her daughter Katie and she couldnt be on Days for a few weeks, they allowed Stephen to do a PSA at the beginning of 2 eppys of Days where he explained what was happening with her...It was so rad becuz Ive never seen that before and since and was such an expression of love and reality that I ate up every word and saw for the first time his deep concern for his best friend who he mentioned was happy when he came over and waited on her hand and foot LOL....so I love that...

In an interview Mary Beth was asked to explain the chemistry (what they always called "connection") between her and Stephen and she said "You know Stephen and I have always had that connection. We could walk into a 711 and see each other and have chemistry."......(totally paraphrased but love that!)

In 1987 at the height of Patch and Kayla's popularity SOD did a cover on them, but the interview was very interesting as it was really an interview with all their co-stars and how they felt about them and their connection to each other....Every single one of them said that at Days they were a married couple that were the best of friends and that when Mary Beth had a day off, Stephen was a wreck without her....awww. It gave the coolest insight and really hit home that the connection they have was real, and that the love they built as friends and partners when PAST the lines in their scripts....

Lastly...and believe me, you KNOW I could go on forever LOL......One of my favorite things they printed about their friendship was a DAY IN THEIR LIVES lol where they werent on a show together and yet Stephen was driving down PCH (Pacific Coast Highway 101) and the sun was setting and he just called Mary Beth and wanted to share the beauty of it with her and tell her he was thinking about her......she loved that. So do I.

THAT is something you see in that picture above....and while I thank Days and MB and Stephen and Micheal Bruno for making their comeback happen.....for some reason Im ok about this becuz NO ONE can take their friendship and loyalty to each other away. What may have started at Days has transended past the written page and is 23 years strong still to this day....

When I was at the Day of Days event last Oct....She was the first person to be called and even though they hadnt called him to come out they both came out together hand and hand and were the ONLY Days peeps to do so.....I am the luckiest person in the soap world to have chosen the two people who enjoy each other and support each other and still hang with each other after all these years and try to work together every chance they get.......I realize they may never get the chance to be PNK again...*phew sigh* but being the resilient reinventing souls that they are NO ONE can say Stephen and Mary Beth are done....not even the fat lady...which just means I personally wont be doing any concerts anytime soon LOL....sorry I had to say that.....

No actually I am doing a mini concert I have to tell you about......You see everyone has been running around like chickens with their heads cut off about the crappy way they arent writing an exit story for them....(dont get me started) soooo I have posted what Im doing and its starting to catch fire...You see this is a realllll crappy bday gift to me that they are leaving Days this month so my gift to them and myself is to go up to the Days studio on Valentine's Day (uh 8 Days) and take my harmonica and guitar and make some Patch and Kayla yellow rose and heart chocolates and letters from the fans and play their songs for hours outside the studio in a quasi-form of protest that isnt hostile just supportive and loving like I did with the last PC dinner and our letters.....I will bring my camera and if there is a way to get ANY publicity on this in the form of media on a fans tribute to a horrible decision then soooooo be it!
